By pressing, the excess water is removed from the leather and they become more extensive.
In order to achieve the same thickness on the whole surface the leather is thinned by splitting. Will result the leather and split.
Throughout this process, the hides are brought to the same thickness. Irregularities in thickness and traces of meat are removed.
Neutralization, retanning, dyeing, lubricating
At this stage, the acid resulted in the tanning process is neutralized. Follows the process of dyeing and lubricating. Lubrication helps the leather to reach an optimal degree of smoothness.
Stretching and drying
After the chemical processing follow the mechanical operations of spinning and stretching in the spinning/stretching machine, followed by pre-drying under vacuum and a final drying on a conveyor or in a drying tunnel.
After drying, this procedure is applied to soft leather and it consists in making several stretches in different directions, providing softness and suppleness of leather.
The leather is polished in a polishing machine. This technique is particularly useful for nubuc and split suede leather.
For better elasticity, the leather is processed in a milling barrel under controlled humidity.
Through dyeing and ironing the leather is finished, being ready for use in the manufacturing industry.
